The cameras I used for most of the earliest photos in this blog were a 110-size instamatic--I don't recall the brand--and also disposable cameras which contained 35 mm film.... Then I was able to buy a used Minolta SLR camera from a second-hand store. The salesman said it was in "pristine condition" and I enjoyed using it for a number of years, even though I had only one lens...and a tripod.
In 2003, the Minolta company joined with Konica; and in 2006, I believe they sold their camera division to SONY. www.sony.ca
There came a day when I accidentally dropped my Minolta camera on the ground and wasn't able to repair it.... I used some disposable cameras again, for a little while, and they weren't identified as 35 mm or anything special, that I recall...? I also don't remember the brand names.... Then I got an Olympus Digital e-420 camera and I've enjoyed using it.... It has both automatic and manual focus options on it.... www.getolympus.com
Have never actually taken a photography class but I've learned on my own from books, somewhat; and I belonged to a camera club for a while, as an online member.... It seems the club is no longer functioning, at this time. In the distant past, I also took a commercial floral-design course by correspondence; and all the teaching designs were simple drawings within frames.--I learned some principles of design on paper, which was similar to looking at photographs.... Even though flower arrangements are different from photos, of course.... But you never know where you can learn from...and if you get started, you can learn as you go along...!

A Nature Charity
Have been hearing some ads for a nature charity on one of my favourite radio stations which is New Classical FM--www.classical963fm.com.
The charity is called "The Nature Conservancy of Canada"--www.natureconservancy.ca. This seems to be a reputable agency which helps to conserve nature areas in Canada, as the name suggests.... Myself, I've sent them a cheque in the mail recently. If other people would like to support them, also, I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

Nature Art--33
These photos were taken along the north part of Highway 35, in "cottage country," in Ontario. The middle photo reminds me of icing on a gingerbread house!
More About Journalling
This post is continued from a post about journalling on Friday, December 2, 2016.
Wanted to share that when I do my journalling, I have a pencil holder cup on the corner of my desk and I use different-coloured pens and highlighters to mark my notes....
First, I use the same-colour pen to write all of my entries...then I use a different-colour pen to go back and write updated notes in the margins, when necessary.... I also use one highlighter for ordinary emphasis and another-colour highlighter for special emphasis. I keep all my colours consistent and that makes it easy to go back and review my notes and to find what I'm looking for.
Also want to say again that John Maxwell's advice about journalling has transformed my diary/journalling experience. I really appreciate this experience now, where earlier I didn't! And I use journals for my personal life and separate journals for my legal/business matters.

Violence Against Women--Part 2
This post is continued from a post on Wednesday, December 7, 2016.
There's a psychologist named Dr. Steven Stosny who believes that if an abusive man can't be helped by anger management therapy, he may be struggling with a misguided need to be perfect... The abusive man hasn't allowed himself to be human and given himself permission to make mistakes.... I thought this was a very interesting concept when I saw Dr. Stosny interviewed on a satellite TV station earlier.... I believe he went so far as to say something to the effect that abusive men need compassion...but on his website, he also says they need to learn to give compassion.... Anyway, Dr. Stosny is able to counsel clients by telephone or email...and he can be found at: www.CompassionPower.com.
